Message from Superintendent's Office

Welcome to the 2021-22 school year in the Yankton School District!  We know this will be a very busy, successful and rewarding school year.  I want to thank our students, parents, grandparents, staff members, and our community for your outstanding support.

As I reflect on the past year, it makes me proud to be a part of the Yankton School District. Our District provided learning in the classroom all year because of the courage and tenacity of our YSD staff. They showed up under uncertain circumstances, adjusted their way of teaching, changed the structure of the classroom, and altered their daily practice in order to keep kids in school, and we are grateful.

I am so proud of our food service, bus drivers, paraprofessionals, counselors, administrators, custodians, secretaries, and all other staff who worked as a team to get the job done. I am equally proud of our students for their resilience and accomplishments this year.

Please take the time to review the various elements contained within the YSD Newsletter. You will find a great deal of information regarding our schools, such as school supply lists, important telephone numbers, registration dates, and pertinent information regarding the school food service program, as well as school activities.

We will continue to work very hard to make sure we provide a top-notch education and a safe learning environment for our students and staff.  The education, health and safety of our students is very important to all of us.
