In order to better communicate alerts, notifications and reminders to parents and members of the community, the Yankton School District has implemented an outreach messaging system called Blackboard Connect 5. This communication service allows the school district to reach thousands of people within minutes with a personalized voice message, email and/or text message.
The contact information (home phone, cell phone numbers and email address) that you provide with your child's registration is maintained with our student management system called PowerSchool. You are automatically signed up to receive communications from your child's school and district-wide announcements, alerts and reminders. Community members, alumni, students and media:

Do I have to sign up?
If you have a student enrolled in the Yankton School District, you are automatically signed up to receive messages from the District. If you are not receiving messages from the District, contact your child’s school and the secretary can verify the information we have on file for you in PowerSchool.
I opted out of receiving messages and would like to receive them again. How do I re-enroll?

How do I update my contact information?
Contact your student’s school secretary and she can update any information so you can stay informed with district and school announcements.
