|Absentee Voting - By Mail|
If you are unable to vote in-person at your polling place on election day (February 11, 2020), you may be eligible to vote absentee by mail.
To vote by mail, a voter must submit an absentee ballot application to the Yankton School District Administration Building no later than 5:00 pm on Monday, February 10, 2020. Please take into account mail delivery time when requesting an absentee ballot. Waiting until the day before the election to request an absentee ballot will not guarantee that you receive the ballot in time to return it for counting.

Step 2: Mail the completed application and copy of a South Dakota driver's license or non-driver ID card, a passport or other picture ID issued by the United States Government, a tribal photo ID, or a current student photo ID issued by a South Dakota High School or postsecondary education institution to:

In lieu of a photo ID, the voter may have the application notarized.
Step 3: A ballot will be mailed to the voter.
Step 4: Absentee ballot is mailed (use address above) or delivered to the Yankton School Administration Building located at 2410 West City Limits Road in time for the person in charge of the election to get the ballot to the correct voting precinct by 7:00 pm election day.
