Elementary Counseling
Welcome to the Yankton School District's Elementary School Counseling page. As school counselors, we work with students, parents, teachers, and staff to ensure that each student's academic, social/emotional, and career needs are being met. School counselors provide individual, group, and classroom counseling.
Elementary Counseling Curriculum
We follow the Second Step Bullying Prevention Curriculum for JrK-5th Grade and the Second Step Social/Emotional Curriculum Curriculum for Preschool-5th Grade. We also TheWorryWoos Social/Emotional curriculum with K-1 students and Common Sense Media internet safety and cyberbullying lessons with K-5 students. This is delivered during our classroom counseling lessons that each classroom receives every other week.
