Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year and Happy 150th birthday to the Yankton School District, which was established in 1875!

On behalf of the Yankton School District, it is my pleasure to welcome you to a new school year filled with opportunity, growth, and continued excellence in education. We are especially proud to mark this year with the opening of Trailhead Learning Center, our brand-new early learning center dedicated to serving our Preschool through Kindergarten students. Trailhead represents more than just a new building — it reflects our commitment to providing a strong foundation for our youngest learners in a space designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning.

At Yankton School District, we are driven by a commitment to excellence in education. We strive to create learning environments where every student can reach their fullest potential — academically, socially, and emotionally. This work is only possible through strong partnerships between families, schools, and our broader community. Communication and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do, and we know that working together benefits all students.
