The Buck tennis team wrapped up their season in Brookings today defeating Huron and Aberdeen Central. The Bucks wrap up the regular season with a 20-3 dual record. The post season kicks off Monday with the ESD tournament held in SF.

⛳️ The golfing Gazelles finished in 7th place out of 11 teams at Friday’s Yankton Invitational at Hillcrest Golf & Country Club (17 teams were represented). Aberdeen Central finished first, followed by Mitchell. Ellia Homstad led Yankton with a 90 (T17).

During a break in kindergarten screening, the introduction to education class got to experience what a kindergarten screening is like as well as ask screeners questions. Best of luck to all those future kindergarteners! There is a great group of screeners taking care of you!

Students in Mrs. Ladwig's Introduction to Education class have their ideal classroom dioramas on full display in the YHS library. They used their YSD school tours, research, and curriculum to design them. We have wonderful future educators in our system!









Congratulations to Miles, Chase, and Hunter on their upcoming graduation from YHS. These three have been great leaders and role models for the Yankton Tennis program.

The Buck tennis team earned themselves a split decision losing to a tough SF Lincoln team 9-0 and bouncing back with a convincing win over a very talented SF Christian team 6-3. We also celebrated our three seniors, Chase Howe, Hunter Eggen, and Miles Krajewski. What a day!

Two more conference road wins for the Bucks today. Yankton defeated Pierre 9-0 and Mitchell 6-3. Next up is SFL and SFC in Yankton on Tuesday. First serve is 11 am.

Due to the forecasted storm moving into the area with the possibility of high winds, rain and hail, Yankton School District will have an early release today, Friday, April 26 at 2:00 pm. We want to get all of the students home safely ahead of the potential severe thunderstorm. There will be no PM Early Intervention at Stewart and no PM Preschool at Webster. Buses will run accordingly.

Another great day for Buck Tennis is in the books. Two home wins is just what the doctor ordered. Next up will be Mitchell and Pierre in Mitchell on Monday.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that students will want to go outside when the sun is shining. ☀️
Mrs. Powell's AP novels class took a break from Pride and Prejudice to enjoy a brief walk outside. Like Elizabeth Bennet, everyone's eyes were brightened by the exercise!

⛳️ The Gazelles golf team finished in 7th place at the Pierre Invitational on Tuesday. Freshman Ellia Homstad was the top Gazelle finisher with an 89 (19th). Bailey Anderson recorded a 100 (34th) and Sabrina Krajewski a 101 (36th).
