The final day of school for students for the 2024-2025 school year will be Friday,
May 16, 2025, and will be an early dismissal at 1:00 pm. There will be no PM
Preschool classes at Webster School or PM Early Intervention Preschool at Stewart
School. Report cards will be mailed to each student's home.


Congratulations to HS 9th graders Camden Pietz and Alex Henning for placing in the top ten in the Geometry Division at the Merten Hasse Math Competition at USD. Alex placed 6th and Camden placed 2nd.

Yankton Wrestling will be hosting a car wash fundraiser on Saturday, June 14th from 11 AM - 2 PM in the Ace Hardware Parking Lot in Yankton. The price is $10 per car and all other donations are welcome. All funds will go directly to the Yankton wresters who are attending the NSU team camp in June from June 22-25 to help cover costs of the camp. The event is sponsored by Yankton Jr. Bucks Wrestling and Kopetsky's Ace Hardware!

Educators Rising and Introduction to Education students participated in an educational assessment and data outreach by designing and creating an interactive bulletin board for classrooms around Yankton. It was AMAZING to see some of these bulletin boards throughout our tours!




The Yankton Bucks and Gazelles brought the heat to the track and earned themselves a sweet reward! 🏃♂️🍦 After a day full of strong performances in Mitchell, the crew capped things off with an ice cream stop to celebrate. Next up: we’re heading back to Mitchell for the Corn Palace Relays this Thursday! 💪🏽🏅 Huge shoutout to the Yankton Booster Club for always cheering us on and supporting our athletes!

Way to go! Gazelle golfer Faye Ireland made a hole-in-one today at practice on #4 at Fox Run Golf Course using at 8-iron. Playing with her were Ellia Homstad and Everly Bruening. Congrats Faye!


Introduction to Education students ended their school leadership and classroom design tours at Sacred Heart Elementary school (led by Mrs. Haberman). We are so fortunate to have so many wonderful educators and opportunities in Yankton. Thank you to all!




YSD took a team to the USD Merten Haase Math competition this weekend!


Buck Tennis took advantage of the beautiful weather and served up two wins against Milbank (9-0) and SF Jefferson (8-1).
Next up is a home showdown of SF O'Gorman on Tuesday.


Congratulations to Zac and Harrison on reaching another milestone on the tennis courts today. Their win over Milbank was their 100th Career Doubles Victory!


Introduction to Education students continued their leadership and school environment tours this week. We loved our tours from Mr. Beste (Lincoln), Mr. Lukkes (Stewart), Mrs. Ryken (Webster), and Dr. Olson (YMS). Thank you so much for showing us your buildings!





The Great Gatsby was published 100 years ago today! Students in Mrs. Powell's English III classes celebrated the novel's "birthday" with candy and a discussion about climactic moments in the plot. Happy birthday! 🎂🎈🎉
