
Congratulations to the YHS Music Department on a successful day at the Region 1 Large Group Contest! Acappella Choir, Freshmen Choir/Concert Choir, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band all received superior ratings! The Orchestra and Cadet Band both received Excellent ratings!


Mother Nature may have been everyone's toughest opponent today but the wind and rain couldn't keep the bucks from coming home with two more victories on the day improving their record to 10-0. Next up is Sioux Falls Jefferson and Milbank on Friday.


2 quality wins fir the Bucks today as they defeat Brandon 7-2 and Mitchell 5-4 improving their record to 8-0 on the season.

A one-day in-service day for Yankton School District teachers will be held on Monday, April 4. There will be no school for students in Preschool through Grade 12 on this day.

The Buck Tennis team improved to 6-0 on the season with victories over Sioux City Heelan and Vermillion today.

Congratulations to YHS Band member Damien Magnuson-Willman on being selected to the 2022 SD All State Jazz Band! He will travel to Brookings May 5-7 and perform a concert with jazz musicians from across the state. Congrats again, Damien!

CONGRATULATIONS to Rugby Ryken on being named to the 2022 All Tournament Team! On a special note, Rugby joins his brother Rex on this special list of players who have earned this honor. Rex earned this same honor four years ago at the 2018 State Tournament.


Once again the Bucks played hard till the end, but just couldn't get their shooting going in a 32-54 loss to SF Jefferson. The Bucks' 8th place finish was not what we hoped for, but the experience for the boys will last forever. Until next year...GO BUCKS!!!

Peg Olson, Kiwanis President, presented Math and Science Awards to Madisyn Bietz, Tim Merchen, Camryn Zoeller, and Samuel Kampshoff.


The Bucks ran into a hot shooting Mitchell team today and even though the Bucks lost 56-66, they kept fighting all the way to the end. The Bucks will now play in the 7th-8th place game tomorrow at noon vs Sioux Falls Jefferson and look to end the season with a win. GO BUCKS!!!
