A group of YHS Educators Rising students joined more than 200 students today at an SDSU education exposition. The group enjoyed break out sessions, a keynote from the 2025 SD Teacher of the Year, a campus tour, and SDSU ice cream.
Congratulations to the YHS Marching Band! They wrapped up their competitive season with a 2nd Place ranking in Division 3A @ Quad State Regional Marching Competition October 18th! Way to go, YHS Band!

The Boy's soccer team had the privilege of helping the Yankton Contact Center move into their new location. This was a great opportunity for our boys to give back to such a great community that supports them in the classroom and on the soccer field! Go Big! Go Bucks! Go Yankton!

As we reflect on Native American Day, we’re reminded of the meaningful Wacipi celebrations held at YMS. These special days provided students with the opportunity to explore Native American history, traditions, and contributions through lessons that connected to their classroom studies. Guest speakers and dancers shared their knowledge and talents, helping students gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of Native American culture. In the evening, students and their families came together again to take part in the Wacipi and share a meal—a beautiful celebration of learning, community, and respect.

A great Gazelle soccer season came to an end in the State Quarterfinals, Saturday. The Gazelles fought hard but in the end fell 0-1. A huge shout out to Walmart (Yankton) for their continued support of Yankton athletics and supplying the team with BODYARMOR drinks after the game.
