Throughout the semester, YHS Introduction to Education and Training students are welcoming educational professionals into the classroom to speak about their careers and experiences in the field of education. Thank you to all of our visitors for talking with our future teachers.
Last week, our Mr. Shaun Streyle YHS assistant principal spoke to the class about his time in Alaska as a teacher, principal, and superintendent. He shared unique experiences from his years in Alaska that our students truly enjoyed hearing about.
This week, we welcomed two more groups of visitors. On Tuesday, Mrs. Kristen DeMeuth a Residency Instructor at USD and two current student teachers Miss. Hannah Lotz and Miss. Carlyn Oster visited our class. Our students were able to get a glimpse into what their own future could look like in just a few short years as student teachers.
On Thursday, two of YHS School Counselors Mrs. Jennifer Kirchner and Mrs. Amy Reyes spoke to the class about their roles in supporting students through career planning, academics, and social and emotional counseling.
There are so many different roles within education, and our Introduction to Education and Training students will continue exploring the many pathways available in the field.
