YMS 8th graders enjoyed a busy day. They attended the Missouri River Watershed Festival in the morning and toured the high school in the afternoon.

The final day of school for students for the 2024-2025 school year will be Friday,
May 16, 2025, and will be an early dismissal at 1:00 pm. There will be no PM
Preschool classes at Webster School or PM Early Intervention Preschool at Stewart
School. Report cards will be mailed to each student's home.

Congratulations to YMS 8th graders Roland Marlette and Isabel Gurney for placing in the top ten in the Algebra Division at the Merten Hasse Math Competition at USD. Isabel placed 6th out of 24. Roland won the Algebra competition and received a $500 scholarship to USD.



Huge congratulations to Nora on breaking her *own* 6th grade mile run record at Yankton Middle School! She clocked in at an impressive **6:04**, shaving off a second from her previous record of **6:05** set last fall.


YMS 8th Grade Math students are "hiking" the Pacific Crest Trail. Each day they are given a scenario to journal, they plan & purchase supplies, & solve math problems. Each correct math problem earns them money to buy more for the trip. We are also learning about the weather and landscape of the PCT.

YHS Gazelles Softball took on Pierre at the state capital Thursday. Varsity won 9-7 and JV won 17-11. Go Gazelles! 🥎



Ms. Zimmerman's 6th grade social studies students put their engineering and artistic skills to the test as they learn about Ancient Roman aqueducts and mosaics!

Yankton Public Schools will not be in session from Thursday, April 17, through Monday, April 21. April 17 is a parent-teacher conference compensation day, and April 18 and April 21 are Easter Vacation days. School will resume on Tuesday, April 22.


Congrats to the Yankton Middle School Oral Interpretation team on their fantastic performances at the Brookings competition! They all worked hard and made great improvements this season.
