Lincoln School 3rd graders were treated to a super fun field trip to the Fire Station and Mt. Marty Field House! Students first rotated to different rescue vehicles, including a couple of fire trucks, a police car, and an ambulance. It was neat to see all the different tools each job uses and to hear about the work they do to help our community stay safe. Thank you to Fire Chiefs Tim and Daniel for arranging all of this! Then we took a break to enjoy some delicious pizza from Domino's. Thank you to the Lincoln PALS (PTA) for supplying the generous donation for the pizza and to other parents who donated a little extra in order to get juice pouches and cookies. From there, we went to the Mt. Marty Field House where Dan Slowey and his P.E. students planned four amazing stations of games. These MMU students are going to make terrific teachers one day! Needless to say, we made some wonderful memories and are thankful to all involved!

Beadle Elementary is collecting photos to celebrate Beadle’s 100th birthday. We are very interested in any photographs from the earlier years of Beadle School, but we will accept photographs from all years. The photos will be used for a slide show of Beadle’s history next fall, when we have an Open House on Sept. 22, 2026. We invite you to upload photos to the link provided. For those not able to upload, they can bring their photos to Beadle, and we will upload them for you. We encourage former staff or family of former staff members to upload a staff photo, including the years they worked at Beadle. Thank you for your submissions and for helping celebrate Beadle’s history. They can be uploaded at this link: https://bit.ly/4uk4ov9

YAHOO...our 4th day of testing is complete! Mrs. Loecker's 3rd graders celebrated with a friendly competition...the Oreo Cookie Challenge! The giggles throughout the game is always Mrs. Loecker's favorite! Congrats to the two students who were able to get the cookie from their foreheads to their mouths without using their hands!

After a long and impactful career of 47 years Sally Stanage, our dedicated elementary speech pathologist, is retiring after decades of service in the Yankton School District. Beginning in Webster Elementary from 1979 to 2003, she also served students at Beadle/Webster Elementaries from 1984 to 1996 before continuing her work at Lincoln Elementary from 2003 through 2026. Throughout her career, she supported students across multiple buildings, including the middle school, Utica, Mission Hill, and Sacred Heart. Her journey into the field began during her junior year when she took a speech correction class that sparked her interest with its challenge and purpose, guided by an inspiring instructor who later became her advisor. Reflecting on her time in the district, she is most grateful for the supportive administrators and teachers she worked alongside and notes that the energy and excitement of the elementary setting made it especially rewarding. Over the years, she has seen significant growth in the field, with expanded knowledge around stuttering and a deeper understanding of how speech, articulation, and language development are critical to reading and comprehension. As she looks ahead to retirement, she is excited for a slower pace of life, free from carefully scheduled days, and most of all, the arrival of her first grandchild in May.

After long testing days, Mrs.Stacey's third graders gave our brains a break and played some games! We took on the human knot challenge, played Alibi, and Silent Ball! Lots of laughs were shared!

Mrs. Loecker's 3rd graders have rocked two of the state tests this week and celebrated by playing a game called "Alibi". It was fun watching the suspects try to trick the detective and watching the detective try to figure it out!

Mrs. Neuhaus's 1st graders at Lincoln turned learning into something extra sweet! 🍬

We used jelly beans to build our very own charts and collect data. First, we sorted them by color, then counted how many of each we had. The classroom was full of excited mathematicians comparing which color had the most and the least!
After all our hard work analyzing and graphing, we got to the best part… eating our data! 😄

Who knew math could be this delicious? 💛📊
