Ms. Greene's "firsties" are so busy the last couple of weeks. We worked on identifying short and long vowel sounds today. I had a photo bomber who kept running to join other groups during the photos...make me giggle a bit.

At Lincoln, Mrs. Davison's third grade music class spent last Friday celebrating May 4th a little early. We learned about the amazing music of John Williams and accompanied Imperial March with Boomwhackers.
Mrs. Loecker's 3rd graders earned a reward to bring a snack and drink from home. We finally watched the rest of our movie from a previous reward a long time ago. Way to go 3rd graders...finish the year strong!
Mrs. Roth's Mathematicians are working on their end of the year math project. They are using area, perimeter, and volume to design 3-D cities, bedrooms, and zoos! Can't wait to see their finished projects! Go Lincoln Leaders!

Lincoln School 3rd graders had the opportunity to visit the art fair at the Middle School on Friday. Mrs. Loecker's class did a great job of carefully walking around to admire all the really neat projects! YSD has some very talented young artists...check out the art for yourself if you get a chance!
3rd graders in Mrs. Loecker's class are reviewing area and perimeter by making themselves out of squares! When they are done, they have to calculate the area and perimeter of their perimeter person. Math is fun!

Thank you so much to Kopetsky's Ace Hardware in Yankton for the "Poppin' Up Leader" popcorn treat!! It was a great ending to a week filled with State Tests! We thoroughly enjoyed it!!
The final day of school for students for the 2024-2025 school year will be Friday,
May 16, 2025, and will be an early dismissal at 1:00 pm. There will be no PM
Preschool classes at Webster School or PM Early Intervention Preschool at Stewart
School. Report cards will be mailed to each student's home.

Mrs. Stacey's third grade music class is learning how to identify the form of the piece they are singing. Today, students had the opportunity to improvise using the pentatonic scale during the C part(bridge) of the song. It was fun to hear their creations.
