It's the most wonderful time of the year at Lincoln Elementary.....recorder time! Each student at Lincoln receives a brand new recorder in third grade. As the kids grow, they build on their knowledge and play more complicated songs. At the end of their elementary school career, they get to keep them. Mrs. Davison's music class had been waiting all year to start. They were pumped to learn and had a great time performing Hot Cross Buns.

State testing is here for Mrs. Stacey's 3rd grade Lincoln Leaders! We have put in so much work reviewing everything we've learned this year! Our favorite way to review is playing games with our classmates!

Every day is a great day if you are a Ms. Greene "firstie!" Today was especially fun. We made hopping bunnies, enjoyed a donut treat from a classmate and ended the day with a popcorn party sponsored by Kopetsky Ace Hardware here in Yankton! What a lucky bunch we are!

Monster Mash-up! We have been learning about hereditary traits, so we created baby monsters by flipping a coin to decide which trait they received. Mrs. Stacey's 3rd grade Lincoln Leaders love science labs!

After some rhythm stick dancing, Mrs. Krejci's music class had to walk the music room and read all about different orchestra instruments and sort them into the correct families. The focus in second grade will be the brass family.

Mrs. DenHerder may not understand the hype surrounding the chicken banana song but Mr. Bochman's music class sure did. She took the opportunity to work on rhythm identification and syncopation in the song while the kids took the time to teach her the dance.
