Augie and I started Tail Wagging Tutors with Stewart Elementary first graders from Mrs. Viereck's and Mrs. Kappla's classes today. It was fun to see how well they are reading!



We voted!! Second graders at Stewart had a wonderful time learning about community from our First Dakota volunteers. Thanks to Julz and Kevin for fun and engaging lessons, and bringing us piggy banks!

Will the groundhog see its shadow? Stewart 1st graders learned about the tradition of Groundhog's Day and practiced making their own groundhog shadows.

EIGHTY Stewart STARS participated in our Winter Break Reading Bingo challenge! They read to complete fun winter themed squares for BINGO-some even achieved Blackout! These readers enjoyed playing BINGO to celebrate! Way to go Stewart STAR readers!








Hip hip hooray! It was Kindergarten's 100th day! Mrs. Bindes class stayed busy with many activities and of course, a snack!









🎉 Stewart's second graders had a fantastic time learning about communities with their wonderful Junior Achievement volunteer, Nick Moser! 🏘️ They explored how different roles contribute to the community.

Due to icy roads, Yankton School District will have a 2-hour late start today, Thursday, December 19. There will be no morning preschool at Webster School and no morning Special Education Preschool at Stewart. All buses will run approximately two hours later than their normally scheduled time.
