Stewart Elementary School

After assessing the road conditions in the rural areas, the late start for Yankton School District has been canceled. Yankton School District will not have school today, Monday, December 15, due to the poor road conditions in several rural busing areas. Our first priority is the safety of the students, and the current road conditions in several areas put them at risk at this time.

Some wonderful students volunteered their time to set up our classroom Christmas tree!

Stewart Staff's "Is there a Peppermint in Your Pocket?" winners- Mrs. Osborne, Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Goeken, and Mrs. Carda (Mrs. Rothschadl stood in for Mrs. Carda). Mrs. Johnson ended the day with two peppermints. Rules to the game are attached.

The fourth grade at Stewart held their annual "Friendsgiving" today. It was just a little larger this year. Fun times were had playing games and enjoying some trail mix and candy salad. We wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Board games, full-belly laughter, and a shared Turkey Trail Mix made today feel truly special. This 4th grade tradition fills our classrooms with community, kindness, and genuine care for one another. We are so grateful for these 62 big-hearted Stewart Stars who make our school shine a little brighter every day.

Stewart first graders are so thankful for our nutritionist and kitchen staff at the high school for letting us tour and see how our lunches are made and packed! Thank you!

Mrs. Viereck's first grade class celebrated Thanksgiving with a snack, turkey trap, and a balloon parade! Happy Thanksgiving!

All the fourth graders from Stewart put on a fantastic concert on Monday night. It was so much fun seeing all of Mrs. Christensen's little elves! I was even able to get in on an Elfie Selfie! Great job, Mrs. DenHerder!
