This week at Stewart for Teacher Appreciation Week, staff have had some fun with "underground" dress up days. Staff know the theme but kids do not! We have been getting many funny looks and lots of questions, but it has been a lot of fun for all. Monday- Monochromatic Day

Beadle Elementary is collecting photos to celebrate Beadle’s 100th birthday. We are very interested in any photographs from the earlier years of Beadle School, but we will accept photographs from all years. The photos will be used for a slide show of Beadle’s history next fall, when we have an Open House on Sept. 22, 2026. We invite you to upload photos to the link provided. For those not able to upload, they can bring their photos to Beadle, and we will upload them for you. We encourage former staff or family of former staff members to upload a staff photo, including the years they worked at Beadle. Thank you for your submissions and for helping celebrate Beadle’s history. They can be uploaded at this link: https://bit.ly/4uk4ov9

Mrs. Heiter's 4th graders would like to give a big shoutout to the workers at Mead Museum that took time to give tours to our class today. Another HUGE thanks to Yankton College Alumni for sponsoring our tours. This was a great break in between testing for our kids while still learning about some fun and valuable information.

Mrs. Johnson’s 4th grade Stewart Stars had the best day on our field trip to Mead Cultural Education Center! We experienced so many moments of wonder and discovery as we explored the Corps of Discovery exhibit, stepped back in time to the 1930s, and learned about the rich history of Yankton College. This was truly one of our favorite days of 4th grade! A heartfelt thank you to the Joseph and Mary Wood Ward Alumni and Educational Center of Yankton College for sponsoring our class, and thank you to the Mead team for sharing their impressive knowledge and making learning come alive for our students. The center, team, and sponsors are such a wonderful treasure to our community!

Thank you to Mr. Gavin Zimmerman for coming to Mrs. Christensen's class at Stewart this morning to show us his collection of maps from the 1860's. They showed the early versions of the Dakota Territory. It was a timely visit since we are going to the Mead Museum on Monday. What a great way to kick off learning more about South Dakota. Gavin's son, Thomas, was pretty proud of his dad sharing with us! Thank you!

Mrs. Steiner's 1st grade class at Stewart has had the BEST time learning about the chicken life cycle! We learned the parts of an egg, how to candle a chicken egg, and experienced the process of hatching chickens in an incubator. Taking care of the chicken that hatched was one of the best parts!

Mrs. Heiter's 4th graders took a break from testing to do a fun experiment on mind reading. We learned that it really isn't possible to actually read minds.

Mrs. C's class from Stewart, along with the whole school, went to watch the AMAZING "Annie" today at the High School. The production and singing were fantastic, and we really enjoyed it! Thank you to the performers and instructors for inviting us. Our favorite was Annie and Sandy! Shows performed this weekend for the public...check the school webpage if interested.
