As we reflect on Native American Day, we’re reminded of the meaningful Wacipi celebrations held at YMS. These special days provided students with the opportunity to explore Native American history, traditions, and contributions through lessons that connected to their classroom studies. Guest speakers and dancers shared their knowledge and talents, helping students gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of Native American culture. In the evening, students and their families came together again to take part in the Wacipi and share a meal—a beautiful celebration of learning, community, and respect.

A great Gazelle soccer season came to an end in the State Quarterfinals, Saturday. The Gazelles fought hard but in the end fell 0-1. A huge shout out to Walmart (Yankton) for their continued support of Yankton athletics and supplying the team with BODYARMOR drinks after the game.
