Be sure to join us for the Yankton School District art show next week! Our artists have been working hard this year and that hard work has paid off!


6th grade YMS artists are drawing their dream bedrooms! We start by learning how to drawing Forms (3D objects like cubes and cylinders) and how to create household objects using those forms (a lamp = cone and cylinder)!
Then, artists design their dream bedroom! 😴🛌🎨✍️





The groundbreaking ceremony for the new Early Childhood Development Center that was scheduled for today has been postponed. The new date and time will be released as soon as it is confirmed.


7th graders are busy writing research papers in ELA. Their inquisitive minds have come up with some intriguing research questions!







Congratulations to Tyan as she has tied the 6th Grade School Record for the Shuttle Run. She joined Jaiden Boomsma with the quickest time of just 8.6 seconds. Way to go Tyan!


A few YMS artists followed along with Mrs. Lincoln to learn how to "step up" their coloring pages with realistic coloring techniques. Artists used markers and colored pencils to show how this technique can be used in different ways!


YMS Concert Choir presents "Pop & Rock Hits of the 1950s through the 1980s" tonight at YMS! Fantastic show!


Congratulations to the 7/8 YMS track team for winning 1st place in the
Hy-vee Pride Cup Track Meet in South Sioux City last night! The trophy remains in Yankton!

Yankton School District is approaching the groundbreaking date of the new Early Childhood Development Center, which means we are ready to begin the exciting process of naming the building!

Uniqueness: The name of the building should be unique.
Respect: The name of the building should not include a person’s name.
The submission process will close on Saturday, April 22, and the chosen name will be announced at a later date. Be creative and have fun!

The artist Kendra Norton created a "coloring book" full of watercolor paintings and tasked the artist to draw in the lines for her paintings.
At YMS, one artist will paint and another will draw lines!
