On a rainy, inside-recess day, after working hard on one of the state tests, Mrs. Loecker's 3rd grade class had a little fun with some oreo cookies. Have you ever tried the Oreo Cookie Challenge? It is harder than it looks, but we did have one student who was able to get the cookie from his forehead to his mouth without using his hands!

Mrs. Roth's Lincoln Leaders started off their Fantastic Friday with some Silent Ball! With not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 Koosh Balls!!!!

What a great ending to our week! Mrs. Schaeffer's Lincoln Leaders shared their famous people reports with friends and family. Their teacher was so proud of them!! (We love taking silly pictures too!)

Mrs. Bertsch's class loves the library!

Art is our favorite! Mrs. Davison's class working on a project for the art fair.

Lincoln Elementary 2nd Graders had some fantastic Famous Person presentations today! Great job 2nd Grade Leaders!

We love to sing in music and it's even more fun with a real microphone! Kindergarten students volunteered to sing one of our concert pieces as a solo in front of the music class. They are awesome leaders. Way to go!

Congratulations to Yankton High School CTE teacher, Bret Johnson, for receiving the Teacher of the Year award last night. Thank you to Farm Credit Services of America for sponsoring the award. Pictured is Bret Johnson, and Anna Bakley, representative from Farm Credit Services of America.

Ms. Greene's class had parents in for our Lincoln Leaders Showcase! Boy were we proud to show off our reading skills!

Math groups in Mrs. Harris's class are always a good time! 🩷☀️🌸

Congratulations to the Students of the Week at Lincoln Elementary! Keep up the excellent work! 🤩

After a long day of testing, popcorn from Ace was a nice treat for Mrs. Davison's class!

A one-day in-service program for Yankton School District teachers and staff will be held on Monday, April 15. There will be no school for students in Preschool through Grade 12 on this day.

It's the "First Monday Coffee Cart" again! Lincoln Elementary Student Council members treated Lincoln's staff to coffee, juice, and delicious treats! Thank you for all that you do! Thank you to P.A.L.S. for helping us provide the goodies! We had a blast!!

Mrs. Schaeffer's Lincoln Leaders went outside to watch the eclipse but the cloud cover made it difficult. They went back inside and created some solar eclipse art while watching the eclipse on NASA's website.

Mrs. Bertsch's class made their own eclipses and tried out the special glasses since it was so cloudy.

Well, at least Mrs. Loecker's class was prepared! Even with the cloudy afternoon, we were still excited to have a classmate bring solar eclipse glasses for each of us. And we looked pretty cool wearing them!

Live in the Moment!
Mrs. Hoesing's second graders explored and viewed a natural phenomenon! Special thanks to Cole and Sara Blom for donating the solar glasses.

Lincoln Elementary Student Council members have been busy packing Best Day Kits. Each kit contains all of the items needed to bake and decorate a cake. They will be donated to organizations in the Yankton community. If you would like to provide items for these kits, please contact Lincoln Elementary School. Thank you!
